an especially bright spot in a rapidly changing world of digital music, the npr all songs considered live series has full and ¡free! sets of live music, many from d.c.’s 930 club.

i’m not always a fan of the all songs podcast (it’s about as vanilla as trendy music can get), but the live series is often incredible.  radiohead’s amazing set from cali on 9.5.08 was especially beautiful (the encore w/ videotape, lucky, and idioteque is chill-inducing).  also, look around for tom waits, the black keys, yo la tengo, neko case, spoon, and somewhere back in the archives, the national, explosions in the sky, cat power… not too shabby.

for my “money” (ha!), a better music “talk show” podcast thing is sound opinions from chicago public radio.  the guys are more entertaining and have way better taste.
