jon & daniele of the wolfgang provided a list of their favorite listens of the year (their bandmate andrew’s is here)–new releases, new finds, and years-old obsessions, but all major influences in ’08:

1. Fleet Foxes: Fleet Foxes
2. Wolf Parade: Apologies to the Queen Mary
3. Explosions In the Sky: All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone
4. Grizzly Bear: Friends
5. Damien Jurado: Caught In the Trees
6. Ratatat: Classics
7. The Cinnamon Band: The Cinnamon Band
8. Danny Schmidt: Little Grey Sheep
9. Feist: The Reminder
10. The National: Boxer

I’ve been enjoying these music posts. Especially since I, too, am often behind the power curve when it comes to discovering/appreciating music the year it was released. This was the year I really got into The Reminder as well. Wolf Parade’s “Apologies” is the superior album, but their new oneI thought was really underrated this year. Check it out. Keep up the good work.

Hmm, perk of living in Pittsburgh… I just reserved from Carnegie library the three albums in this list I hadn’t heard yet. Oooboy.
