i just had the pleasure of finally eating a sunday brunch at clementine–and it hit the spot. this has been going on for a few months now–

[from november:] you asked for it, you got it. clementine now features a scrumptious brunch menu every Sunday 11am to 4pm. from eggs clementine to shrimp and poached eggs, we’ve got a menu to suit every appetite with prices ranging from $6 to $14. we still also feature mimosa and bloody mary carafes for the super deal of $6, so come on in with your friends and family and enjoy.

–and since they are kind enough to serve till 4 pm i haven’t had an excuse!

my eggs clementine, w/ prosciutto, nicely-poached eggs, and delectable citrus-chipotle hollandaise sauce, sitting pretty on an english muffin, were well worth the wait.  and the asiago grits that i couldn’t resist ordering on the side didn’t dissapoint.  but the now-just-5-buck caraffes at our table won my heart–mimosas are well and good, but the bloody mary was the true highlight of my day of rest.

when i lived in seattle, brunch became my favorite meal to eat out, largely because of our close proximity to coastal kitchen, a place where monstrous coffee cake was just an apatizer–

–and “3-egg scramble” was a gross understatement–

there was just nothing more satisfying that starting a weekend day w/ super-flavorful, elegant-meets-comfort food & tons of coffee.  i’m glad that clementine’s providing this community service, even just one day a week…

now i know “sunday bruch” has a nice ring to it, but wouldn’t “weekend brunch” be even snappier, folks?
